Target Zones

  • 50–60% — Light: recovery and warm-up.
  • 60–70% — Moderate: fat-burning, base endurance.
  • 70–80% — Aerobic: cardio improvement.
  • 80–90% — Anaerobic: performance and power.

Resting Heart Rate

Normal range is 60–100 bpm. Athletes commonly have a resting HR below 60 (well-conditioned heart). Consistently >100 bpm at rest warrants medical review.
